Your responsibilities

At Plato we are building a data-driven workflow platform that makes using an ERP system as easy and pleasant as using your iPhone - literally. As one of our team's core members, you will be joining our core application team and create an unrivaled user experience across devices for a user base which has long been underserved UX-/UI-wise - think the Airbnb of ERPs. 

Our AI-driven interface is central to everything we do at Plato and as such this role will involve close collaboration with our data science, product, design and engineering teams.
The ideal candidate is a natural problem-solver who is not afraid to get hands-on and take the initiative in implementing new ways in which we can quickly analyze, implement, and build upon suggestions from our product proposals. As a candidate you will not only cooperate with the design team but you can think of yourself as a full-stack resource that will closely cooperate with our CPO & CTO and fill gaps as a flexible team player where needed.


What you'd be working on:

Product & Features:
  • Build a superior UX/UI of a data-driven vertical SaaS platform from the ground up in which users from wholesale distributors spend +50% of their daily work time
  • Design flexible, configurable interfaces that seamlessly display data from multiple ERP systems and data sources
  • Own features end-to-end: from product discussions to deployment and iteration based on user feedback and usage data

Technical Work:
  • Build composable, reusable frontend components in TypeScript/React for a complex data-heavy application
  • Architect frontend and backend systems for performance, configurability, and maintainability (including contributing to our Terraform infrastructure)
  • Write high-performance, real-time ERP integrations (SAP, Dynamics, etc.) - we have write-back modules to many ERP systems

Team & Ownership:
  • Work in lean cross-functional teams spanning full-stack engineers, data scientists, data engineers and product managers
  • Full ownership to collaborate with your product owner to shape and build features end-to-end
  • Optional direct customer interaction to understand user needs and validate solutions

Your qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in full-stack TypeScript minimum; high-growth tech company experience is a plus
  • You are fluent in TypeScript and React
  • You're excited about working on-site 4 days/week in our Berlin office
  • You are comfortable working with databases (we use PostgreSQL) and understand data modeling concepts
  • You have strong systems thinking: experience building complex, scalable applications with well-architected components
  • You think about systems and services and write high-quality code
  • You don’t have problems with unit testing, GWT structure (Jest, Cypress, Jasmine, Mocha, etc.)
  • Experience with Terraform is a plus

Step 1: Intro call (45 min.)
  • Intro call with one of the founders to get to know each other and introduce Plato

Step 2: Remote coding and technical interview
  • Technical coding interview with our CTO and a full-stack engineer

Step 3: On-site System design interview
  • One technical interview with backend focus
  • One technical interview with frontend focus
  • Meet the rest of the team

Step 4: Founder and non-tech team interview
  • Interview with other 2 founders
  • Interview with someone else from outside the tech team

Step 5: Offer
  • Congratulations! We are convinced by your skills and personality and see a great fit! You will get an offer from us including an appropriate share package.
  • Before sending the offer, we ask you to provide 2-3 contacts for us to do some reference checks.
